On Joy and Sorrow

Then a woman said, Speak to us of Joy and Sorrow.

And he answered:

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.

And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.

And how else can it be?

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?

And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in our heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, "Joy is greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater."

But I say unto you, they are inseparable.

Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.

Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.

When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

Happy Birthdays

My nephew Jacob's birthday was February 7th -- The 16th of April was Owen's 4th birthday -- The 19th was my Dad's birthday -- The 30th will be Gavin's 6th birthday. We celebrated the boys birthday's at a local "Fun Center". It was pretty fun and the kids had a really nice time. I can't believe my little boys are 4 and 6 (almost). It's gone so damn fast. Here are my boys on the days they were born...

Going to check on Clara and give her some auntie kisses. :)

Annoying Post

I know this is really kinda annoying and only matters to me, but I'm going to write it anyway. :)

I got an awesome deal. So I rock. But that's not the point. I got a brand new $250 iPod for $89 courtesy of promos, sales, and a $25 coupon. I'm pretty happy, can you tell?

LOVE MUSIC. Just love it and feel happiest when I am listening to it, well maybe not "happiest" per se, just pretty damn happy. See, I told you this was going to be an obnoxious post.

I also downloaded a free audiobook: "A Game of Thrones" by George RR Martin -- which is book number 1 in a series. I've read them all already, but the 5th book is coming out this fall sometime (at least it BETTER BE!!!!) and I need to brush-up on the story.

Well, that's pretty much all I have to say about that. So, have a nice day/night and maybe I'll write again soon. Kisses.
